Description

The 1937 and 1938 Chevy pickups are the last of the generation of Chevy pickup that was designed in concert with the passenger cars of the same years. The popularity of this style has made them well accepted with hot rodders and car enthusiasts. Like most old trucks, their chassis can show considerable wear after all these years. We offer a safe, strong, and good looking chassis built to Chevy’s original specs that will accept original and aftermarket body parts. Suitable for a restoration or a radical hot rod. Each chassis is built to exact, stock dimensions and your original steel body and bed will fit without issue. Pictured below is the original truck we used for all the measurements and patterns, as well as photos of the chassis fixture built just for this frame. Our recommended front suspension is a Heidts or TCI Mustang II IFS. A traditional axle front end, Kugel Komponents IFS or Heidts Superide IFS is also available. In the rear, we recommend parallel leaf springs which we feel provide superior ride quality for these heavy trucks, especially if you intend to put a few rod-run supplies in the back. We use a custom made spring pack which lowers the rear of the car and provides a nice hot-rod rake when combined with the IFS. To further lower the rear another 2”, we can mount these springs inboard of the frame, rather than under. A triangulated or parallel 4-bar is also an option.

The following describes our 'standard' Complete Rolling Package that can be used as a starting point for planning your custom build. Each chassis is built to your specs and we can typically accommodate special requests or build features - just ask!
