Rear Suspension Systems
A solid-axle or independent rear-end?

Independent Rear Suspensions
  INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEMS (IRS)

Adding independent rear suspension to a street rod has been a popular performance and styling upgrade for many decades.  In the beginning, OEM systems from a Jaguar or Corvette were typically used.  Now, however, street rodders are fortunate that the leading suspension companies offer all-new, custom IRS systems built specifically for their hot rods.

Kugel Komponents IRS - The Kugel Komponents Independent Rear Suspension is without question the finest suspension you can put under your street rod.  Designed and built to function as good as it looks, the Kugel family uses these same parts on their own 225 mph ’32 Ford Bonneville racer.  The Kugel IRS is our 1st choice for an independent rear end when building any chassis in our own shop and we are confident in recommending them.  Included in each Kugel IRS is:  Everything! Control arms, coil-over shocks, crossmember with upper shock mounts (custom for your application), Ford 9” 3rd member, inboard disc brakes with Corvette calipers and Wilwood rotors, pinion support bars and brackets.  Each is built to-order in the exact hub-width needed for your project.  Best of all, the Kugel Komponents IRS comes Fully Assembled!! It shows up in ONE big box with only the crossmember and pinion support brackets to weld or assemble.
