All original steel and most reproduction 1933 and 1934 Ford bodies will bolt right up to our reproduction chassis. Original body mount holes are stamped into the rail, and we add a heavy steel plate behind each one allowing you to drill and tap exactly where your body lands. As there are variations in all the bodies out there, sometimes they won’t align perfectly with the factory holes. These plates keep you from fighting with the exact location of a welded nut and insure you’re body will be secure. Even frames built for a High Boy have backing plates installed for front fender mounts so they can be added later if desired.
We can build yours with a traditional axle front end, or make it handle like a modern sports car with independent front and rear suspension systems. If you intend to run full fenders, a Mustang II IFS can be installed and will save you a few dollars. (This IFS is not recommended for an open-wheeled car due to the appearance of the MII components.) There are also many customizations available on this chassis. Stretched front axles, pinched rails, bobbed rails (front and rear), raised rear crossmember, etc. are all built to order. If you’ve seen it at a car show, we can probably do it!
Our technical staff will discuss your ideas and goals with you to determine the best combination of components for your project. We offer a well-equipped Complete Rolling Chassis to use as a starting point, optioned a follows:
