1927 Ford Roadster Body
Click photo to zoom and open slide-show
Modeled after a historic Hot rod cover car from decades ago, our roadster is an easy, fun, and affordable way to get into street rodding. We widened a 1923-T cowl 4 inches, grafted it to a stretched 1927-T turtle deck back half, and channeled the floor to set over a 2" x 3" frame rail. There is a storage area behind the seats with a bulkhead installed that keeps the fuel tank isolated in the tail of the body. The body is completely assembled with the floor, bulkhead, firewall, and dash already fiberglassed in. And unlike most other T-buckets, our roomier body is all hand-laid fiberglass (vs. chopper gun'ed) suitable for a show-quality paint job.
You can add whatever grill suits your style, and we can provide a '32 Ford, '33 Ford, or '34 Chevy grill shell and insert. A very popular option is our Track-T nose and grill. This complete package with hood and hood sides is large enough to hide a small block V8 and uses a stretched-out 112" wheelbase frame. Or keep the engine bay open. The nose is cut to fit our own custom polished grill, or you can choose a filled Track nose and use another purchased or fabricated grill. A passenger-side door is another available option, although we typically build it low enough to throw your leg over the side and slide right in. We build each roadster to your custom specs with many body and chassis options to choose from to make it just right for you. In recent years, we have built many of these roadsters with either the Kugel Komponents or Heidts IFS. Breaks from tradition a little, but the racy looks of the IFS really fits the streamlined body style and the ride quality can't be beat.
Superior Glass Works chassis shop can also build you a bare frame or complete rolling chassis. Click here for more information.
