Click photo to zoom and open slide-show
This stamped, polished stainless mesh grill gives a clean, timeless look to your '34 Ford. Vertical ribs similar to the original grill with recessed, horizontal supports give a look of depth and dimension. Will fit original steel or our reproduction fiberglass grill shells (SKU: F3412B). Mounts behind the grill with studs that must be fabricated in your grill shell. Installation available if purchased with our reproduction fiberglass grill shell. Shown installed in our grill shell.
This grill insert has been trimmed to fit the original grill shell for your early Ford. Superior Glass Works also manufactures reproduction fiberglass grill shells which these inserts will also fit. Installation is as follows:
ORIGINAL STEEL GRILL SHELL The insert will mount using the original hardware. Installation will vary depending on the exact model, the condition of your grill shell, and any modifications that have been made. Some minor trimming may be needed for a perfect fit. If so, use a small cut-off wheel or heavy tin snips.
GRILL SHELL Our reproduction grill shells do not have any hardware attached for mounting the grill shell and some fabrication is required. The methods will vary depending on your skills and personal prefere
To install the insert, a mounting surface must be created in the back of the grill shell.
Our recommended method is to bond 1/8”-1/4” thick plate into the back of the grill shell where the edges of the grill insert will touch.
Use a product made for bonding metal to fiberglass, such as Duraglass, Long and Strong, or 3M body panel adhesive. Once these plates are set in place, drill and tap holes for small bolts to secure the insert into th
e back of
the grill shell.
You can also affix studs to these plates and secure the insert with a bolt. Som
e minor trimming may be needed for a perfect fit. If so, use a small cut-off wheel or heavy tin snips.
BE CAREFUL - the edges are VERY SHARP!!!
